Coppermine Health & Fitness is seeking an energetic, sales-driven General Manager to lead our Harbor East location. Located in the center of Baltimore's vibrant Harbor East community, this position is an opportunity to lead and grow a fitness club while creating an exceptional experience for our members and staff.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in the fitness industry, sales, and team leadership. We are looking for someone who enjoys being visible on the fitness floor, building relationships, developing a strong team, and finding new opportunities to grow the club.
Key Responsibilities
Drive membership growth and retention through strong sales practices, community outreach, lead follow-up, and relationship building.
Meet and exceed established membership, revenue, and budget goals.
Grow additional club profit centers, including personal training and other fitness and wellness services.
Lead, motivate, and support staff while creating a positive, professional, and member-focused culture.
Recruit, train, develop, and manage employees.
Oversee staff scheduling to ensure the club is appropriately staffed and operating efficiently.
Maintain a strong presence throughout the club and build relationships with members.
Monitor club performance, expenses, payroll, revenue, and departmental goals.
Identify opportunities to increase participation, revenue, and member engagement.
Partner with Coppermine leadership and marketing teams on promotions, events, membership initiatives, and community partnerships.
Ensure the facility consistently meets Coppermine standards for service, cleanliness, safety, and overall member experience.
Position Requirements
Qualifications
Previous fitness industry experience required.
Proven experience in sales, membership growth, or revenue generation.
Previous management or leadership experience strongly preferred.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to motivate and hold a team accountable while creating a supportive work environment.
Comfortable working with budgets, membership goals, sales targets, and other revenue-producing areas of the business.
Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Must be available for a flexible schedule, including some early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
About the Position
Coppermine Harbor East is open seven days a week, and the General Manager plays an active role in all aspects of the club. This is not simply an administrative position—we are looking for a leader who wants to be involved, knows the members and staff, and is excited about growing the business.

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 annually
