For the past 85 years, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has served millions of guests Legit. Texas. Barbecue™ alongside their iconic Big Yellow Cup. The Dallas-based, family-founded barbecue franchise serves slow-smoked meats and home-style sides with 'No B.S. (Bad Stuff)' included for dine-in, drive-thru (select locations) and pick-up. We offer a workplace where employees are given meaningful growth opportunities and rewarded for their loyalty and contributions.
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Restaurant Manager who can lead great restaurant operations while actively growing sales within the local community.
This position is responsible for day-to-day restaurant performance, including team leadership, guest experience, food quality, labor, inventory, operational standards, and community marketing and sales building. The ideal candidate is comfortable both leading inside the restaurant and getting out into the community to build relationships and drive business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily restaurant operations and ensure exceptional food quality, cleanliness, service, and guest experience.
Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and develop restaurant team members.
Manage labor, food costs, inventory, cash controls, and other key restaurant performance metrics.
Maintain compliance with food safety, company policies, and operational standards.
Take ownership of restaurant sales and established KPIs.
Develop and execute daily community marketing and sales-building activities.
Build relationships with local businesses, schools, organizations, hotels, offices, and community groups.
Generate catering opportunities through local outreach, relationship building, and follow-up.
Actively promote the restaurant through community events, grassroots marketing, social media, and local partnerships.
Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally.
Create a positive, accountable, results-oriented restaurant culture.
Qualifications
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and hold a team accountable.
Proven ability to manage restaurant operations in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of labor, inventory, food cost, cash handling, and restaurant profitability.
Sales-minded and comfortable conducting community outreach and developing local business relationships.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
High level of initiative and follow-through.
Passion for hospitality, barbecue, and delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Flexible availability based on restaurant needs.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to own the performance of their restaurant—not simply manage a shift.
