About The Role
Premier1 Auto Care's Hollywood Park location (#281), located at 16308 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio, TX 78232, is a high-volume automotive service center seeking an experienced General Manager to lead daily operations. This role is responsible for driving shop performance, managing workflow across the bay, and building a motivated, high-performing team of Automotive Technicians and Service Advisors. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of leading teams in high-volume automotive service settings.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Culture
Partner with the company Recruiter to source and hire Automotive Technicians and Service Advisors; lead onboarding, training, and ongoing development once hired
- Set clear performance expectations and coach team members to meet them
- Foster a positive, accountable, and high-energy shop culture
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, team meetings, and performance reviews
- Resolve staff conflicts and performance issues promptly and fairly
Workflow & Operations Management
Manage daily bay scheduling and technician workload to maximize throughput without sacrificing quality
- Monitor car count, cycle times, and bay utilization; proactively address bottlenecks
- Ensure proper triage and prioritization of vehicles during peak volume periods
- Maintain shop readiness — equipment, parts availability, and staffing aligned to demand
- Partner with Service Advisors to ensure smooth customer handoffs and accurate write-ups
Business Performance
Own store-level P&L, including revenue, labor, parts costs, and profitability targets
- Track and report on KPIs: car count, average repair order (ARO), technician efficiency, advisor close rate, and customer satisfaction
- Develop and execute action plans to hit sales and productivity goals
- Manage inventory levels and vendor relationships
Customer Experience
Ensure every customer interaction reflects Premier1's standards for honesty, transparency, and service quality
- Handle escalated customer concerns and service issues
- Support Service Advisors in delivering accurate estimates and clear communication
Compliance & Safety
Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, OSHA-compliant shop
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local/state automotive regulations
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a General Manager, Shop Manager, or Store Manager role within automotive service, tire, or quick-lube retail
- Proven experience managing high-volume shops (high daily car count, multiple bays, fast-paced environment)
- Demonstrated success leading and motivating teams of Technicians and Service Advisors
- Strong understanding of shop workflow management, bay scheduling, and labor optimization
- Solid grasp of automotive service P&L management and KPI tracking
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to de-escalate and resolve issues
- Proficiency with shop management software (e.g., Tekmetric, Mitchell 1, or similar)
- ASE certification a plus, but not required for this role
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

- Improved bay-to-technician scheduling that reduces wait times and increases daily car count
- Established rhythm of team check-ins and performance coaching
- Meeting or exceeding baseline KPI targets (ARO, car count, CSAT)
