Overview
Full-time General Manager – 1247 W Canal St, Milwaukee, WI 53233. Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm. Advance your career as a full‑time General Manager, where you'll be the driving force behind our branch business. From developing and executing a sales plan in your market, to inspiring a culture of excellence in business‑to‑business selling, your leadership will shape the success of the entire team. As a motivator, communicator, and strategic thinker, you'll not only work to exceed business goals but also foster career opportunities for those around you. Your leadership will be the compass guiding the branch to new heights.
Responsibilities
Developing and executing a sales plan in a local territory to reach and exceed business goals
Demonstrating excellence in business‑to‑business selling on a daily basis
Effectively communicating business statistics and progress toward goals to motivate the performance of others
Modeling and promoting career opportunities to personnel
Developing and training others to achieve optimal business results as well as personal goals
Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success
Required Position Qualifications
Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
Possess at least one year of Fastenal or related sales experience
Possess a degree in Business/Marketing OR have equivalent industry experience and knowledge of the local market
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient computer skills
Highly motivated and self‑directed with the ability to motivate others
Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
Exhibit strong problem‑solving, deductive reasoning and decision‑making skills
Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs–50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
Preferred Position Qualifications
Prior managerial experience and product knowledge
