General Manager – The House of Marigold NuLu
Louisville, Kentucky | Full-Time | New Restaurant Opening | Starting Salary 85k+
About the Role
The House of Marigold is growing, and we are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead our new NuLu location. This is an opportunity to take the lead on an exciting new restaurant opening and build the team, culture, and operating rhythm from the ground up. The NuLu location will bring The House of Marigold experience to a larger, multifaceted operation featuring full-service restaurant dining, private dining and events, a rooftop bar, and the brand’s commissary kitchen. The General Manager will have overall responsibility for restaurant operations and will work closely with culinary, beverage, private dining, and corporate leadership. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows how to run a high-volume restaurant, develop strong managers, understand the numbers, and create an exceptional experience for both guests and employees. Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Guest Experience
Lead daily operations across restaurant service, private dining, rooftop operations, and the onsite commissary kitchen.
Maintain high standards for hospitality, service, food and beverage execution, cleanliness, and guest experience.
Oversee reservations, floor flow, staffing, and service execution.
Work closely with culinary, beverage, and private dining leadership to ensure strong communication and coordination across the operation.
Handle guest concerns with professionalism, good judgment, and accountability.
Partner with HR to recruit, build, and develop a strong opening team and leadership structure.
Create a positive, accountable, and hospitality-driven culture.
Coach and develop managers while establishing clear expectations for performance and communication.
Oversee scheduling, staffing, performance management, and employee relations.
Partner with HR and company leadership on hiring, training, and retention.
Financial & Business Management
Own restaurant-level financial performance, including labor, cost controls, operating expenses, and profitability.
Manage budgets, forecasts, inventory, purchasing, and key operating metrics.
Identify opportunities to grow revenue and improve efficiency while protecting the guest experience.
Maintain strong operational controls and reporting.
Opening & Growth
Lead pre-opening hiring, training, systems implementation, and opening execution.
Establish strong operating procedures and management routines for the new location.
Partner with company leadership as The House of Marigold continues to grow.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of restaurant management experience, including at least 2 years as a General Manager or comparable senior leader.
Experience leading a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
Strong understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, budgeting, and cost controls.
Proven success building, developing, and retaining strong teams.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
A hands-on leadership style and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with restaurant technology and POS systems; Toast experience is a plus.
Experience with new restaurant openings, private dining/events, rooftop or bar operations, premium dining, or commissary operations is a plus.
Schedule & Compensation
This is a full-time leadership position with a schedule designed to provide both operational presence and dedicated administrative time.

Opening periods, holidays, special events, and business needs may occasionally require additional flexibility.We offer a competitive base salary based on experience, plus performance-based bonus opportunity.
Competitive minimum salary starting at 85k and increasing based on experience; bonus eligible with stretch goal incentives
