General Manager — Jeff's Bagel Run, Neptune Beach
Location: 628 Atlantic Blvd #4, Neptune Beach, FL 32266 Compensation: $20–$28/hour + tips + monthly bonus opportunities
About Jeff's Bagel Run
Our mission is simple: bake fresh, bring joy, build community. What started in Jeff's home kitchen in 2019 has grown to 39 locations nationwide, with a target of 50 by the end of 2026. Every bagel we serve is hand-rolled and kettle-boiled in the New York tradition — no shortcuts, no compromises.
Our Neptune Beach shop opened March 6, 2026, and has quickly become a neighborhood favorite in one of Jacksonville's most tight-knit beach communities.
The Role: A Player-Coach General Manager
This is not a clipboard-and-office job. Our Neptune Beach GM is a working leader — you take a station on every shift and set the pace by doing the work shoulder-to-shoulder with your team. You lead by example, coach in the moment, and step out of your station only when the business demands it.
If you love the energy of a scratch bakery, know how to run a P&L, and would rather be on the line with your crew than hidden behind a desk, this is your seat.
What You'll Own
On the Floor (Player)
Work a station every shift — rolling, boiling, makeline, or register — you're on the schedule, not just watching it
Move to wherever the team needs you most, especially during the morning rush
Set the tone by being visible, hands‑on, and calm under pressure
Greet regulars by name and make every guest feel like they belong
Leading the Team (Coach)
Recruit, hire, train, coach, and retain a crew that reflects our standards
Build schedules that match Neptune Beach's rhythm — weekdays, weekends, tourist season, and holidays all hit differently
Deliver in‑the‑moment coaching on the line and structured performance feedback on a regular cadence
Encourage healthy internal competition and celebrate wins loudly
Run shifts the way you'd want a shift run: clear expectations, quick decisions, no drama
Running the Business
Own the P&L — labor, food cost, waste, and controllable expenses
Inventory management: purchasing, receiving, safe storage, and rotation
Vendor relationships — hold partners to our quality and reliability standards
Cash handling, deposits, house accounts, credit card policies, and reconciliation of comps, voids, and discounts
Hit KPIs on sales, guest satisfaction, and operational execution
Report results, issues, and wins up to ownership and the Corporate Support Team
Guests & Community
Use guest feedback — reviews, comments, complaints — to sharpen the operation daily
Seize opportunities in the Neptune Beach and Jax Beaches community: local schools, offices, surf shops, hotels, churches, and catering leads
Represent the JBR brand the way our customers already do — warm, unpretentious, and proud of the product
Standards & Safety
Keep the shop clean, safe, and food‑safe: floors dry, wares clean, coolers organized, ambiance dialed in (lighting, music, displays)
Follow and enforce all company policies, procedures, and brand standards
Model the behavior you expect from your team, every shift
What We're Looking For
Experience
1+ year as a GM (or a strong AGM ready to step up) in food service — quick-service, fast-casual, or bakery preferred
Proven track record hiring, training, coaching, motivating — and, when needed, exiting — team members
Experience reading a P&L and driving results from what you saw in it
Vendor management experience
Skills & Mindset
Excellent communication — with your team, your guests, and your ownership group
Strong understanding of business, financial, and leadership fundamentals
Analytical: you can spot trends and patterns and build practical solutions
Comfortable making fast, logical decisions in a hot, loud, busy shop
A genuine focus on customer satisfaction — not as a slogan, as a habit
Physical & Scheduling
Ready to work a station: standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs (55 with assistance)
Comfortable moving in and out of hot ovens, warm production areas, and walk‑in coolers
Able to work in spaces where common food allergens may be present
Early morning, weekend, and holiday availability required — bagels don't wait for a convenient hour
Basics
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Able to pass a background check
ServSafe Food Manager certification is a plus — if you don't have it, you'll get it (we cover the cost to attain and maintain)

Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay
$20–$28/hour + tips (rate based on experience)
Monthly Performance Bonus
On top of your hourly pay, you'll be eligible for a monthly bonus tied to the JBR Corporate Scorecard — a composite grade drawn from three equally weighted areas:
Sales — top‑line performance against store targets
Operations — labor, food cost, cleanliness, and execution
Customer Experience — reviews, guest feedback, and service standards
Each month, your bonus is determined by the store's composite scorecard grade:
Composite Score Grade Monthly Bonus
| 90–100 | A | Full bonus
| 80–89 | B | Partial bonus
| Below 80 | C or lower | —
Specific bonus amounts are set at offer. Bonuses are calculated at month‑end and paid in the following pay cycle.
