Job description
THE ROLE:
As General Manager, you will oversee daily operations for Sweet Afton. We're looking for a strategic thinker, problem solver, multi-tasker, and excellent communicator. This key leader will uphold Sweet Afton’s standards of excellence in all areas including team management, financial accountability, quality of service, and guest relations.
WHO YOU ARE:
3+ years of experience in restaurant management in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
An approachable and intelligent leader who can motivate, manage, and develop a large and diverse team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter who is results-oriented and who appreciates and takes initiative on both the essential details and the bigger picture
Team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
Superb time management skills with the ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow-up and execution
Extensive knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and cocktails
Full availability, including nights and weekends
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Oversee and hands-on management of day-to-day operations of Sweet Afton
Manage the FOH and BOH teams, working floor shifts creating a positive work environment, driving sales, motivating the team, and creating exceptional guest experiences
Lead the team on hiring, training, coaching, and overall development of team members including orientation, performance reviews, and any necessary disciplinary action
Develop strategies to manage and be accountable for restaurant financials such as food and beverage costs and labor efficiency
Maintain quality and standards of Sweet Afton’s culture, food, drink, service, and atmosphere
Foster a dynamic, fun, and inclusive culture

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift & carry at least 50 pounds
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
