Job description
The General Manager leads plant production and operations, overseeing precision sheet metal fabrication, heavy machining, painting/coating, and custom contract manufacturing. The role drives throughput growth, P&L optimization, safety compliance, and product quality to meet schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Direct day-to-day manufacturing activities, shop floor throughput, and workforce capacity across all shifts.
Own the plant budget, manage operational expenditures, and report performance metrics to executive leadership.
Collaborate with production planners and inventory coordinators to optimize raw material levels and reduce WIP bottlenecks.
Ensure manufacturing processes meet internal standards and ISO-equivalent client requirements for sheet metal fabrication, welding, and precision assembly.
Oversee vendor relations, logistics routing, and component staging to minimize supply chain delays and stockouts.
Champion workplace safety, enforce OSHA regulations, conduct equipment inspections, and provide tactical skills training.
Qualifications
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive plant leadership, operations management, or executive experience.
