Position Overview
Tiger Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic, people-focused, and highly motivated General Manager to lead operations at our UCSD food hall location.
We're looking for a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands that a successful food hall is about more than daily operations. The General Manager will be responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience, developing a strong team, driving sales, supporting our food concepts and vendor partners, and building meaningful connections with the surrounding community.
The ideal candidate is humble, motivated, solutions-oriented, and excited about growing their career with an expanding hospitality company.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
Oversee all day-to-day food hall operations and ensure a clean, safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment
Maintain high standards for guest service and overall experience
Ensure company policies, procedures, and operational standards are consistently followed
Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions quickly
Work closely with individual food concepts and vendor partners to maintain quality and consistency
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly team members
Build a positive, accountable, and collaborative workplace culture
Support employee training, performance management, and development
Manage staffing and scheduling based on business needs
Provide clear communication and leadership during high-volume periods
Sales & Financial Performance
Drive revenue growth through strong operations, creative sales strategies, and guest-focused initiatives
Monitor P&L performance and key operating metrics
Manage labor costs, productivity, and controllable expenses
Identify opportunities to increase traffic, sales, and profitability
Partner with leadership to establish and achieve location performance goals
Marketing & Community Engagement
Develop and execute local marketing and community engagement initiatives
Plan and coordinate events that activate the food hall and increase guest traffic
Build relationships with local organizations, businesses, students, faculty, and surrounding neighborhoods
Identify partnerships and opportunities that strengthen the food hall's presence within the community
Create initiatives that encourage repeat visits and build guest loyalty
Leadership Collaboration
Build strong working relationships with food concepts, vendors, and company leadership
Participate in management and leadership meetings
Communicate location performance, opportunities, challenges, and operational needs
Contribute ideas and insights as Tiger Hospitality Group continues to grow
Support company-wide initiatives and future expansion as needed
Qualifications
Previous General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Food Hall Manager, Restaurant Manager, or comparable hospitality leadership experience
Experience managing high-volume restaurant, food hall, or multi-concept operations preferred
Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
Understanding of P&L management, labor controls, budgeting, and operational costs
Experience driving sales and improving operational performance
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to build relationships with employees, guests, vendors, and community partners
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
Passion for hospitality, community engagement, and team development

Competitive compensation: $60,000-$80,000 annually , depending on experience and bonus structure
