The Role
The General Manager of Speir Pilates Ocean Park is responsible for the overall performance of the studio, including sales, day-to-day operations, team leadership, membership and revenue growth, and the client experience. This is a full-time role based in Santa Monica, with the majority of time spent actively leading within the studio. The General Manager is the sales leader and cultural ambassador of the Ocean Park studio. This person takes ownership of the business, develops a high-performing team, creates an exceptional experience for every client, and ensures the studio consistently operates at Speir standards. The General Manager reports to the Regional General Manager and works closely with Speir leadership and the Corporate team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day studio operations, ensuring the studio meets Company standards for cleanliness, organization, and member experience.
Hire, supervise, train and support the studio's Sales & Membership Advisors, including staffing coverage and performance management, in coordination with the Regional General Manager.
Drive studio revenue and membership growth: own studio-level sales targets, oversee implementation of the Company's sales process, and directly close sales as needed.
Become proficient in ClubReady software to oversee the studio's sales pipeline, staff performance metrics, and account/member management.
Manage staff schedules to ensure adequate front-desk and sales coverage during all studio operating hours.
Lead local marketing, networking events, and community/studio promotions as scheduled with the Regional General Manager and Corporate.
Report studio performance, staffing needs and other operational matters to the Regional General Manager.
Deliver exceptional customer service to members and prospects, face-to-face, by phone, and by email.

Qualifications
Experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, retail, or studio management with demonstrated responsibility for team leadership and daily operations.
Strong sales and customer-service skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
Experience coaching, developing, and holding employees accountable for performance.
Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage staffing, scheduling, budgets, sales goals, and performance metrics.
Highly organized with excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
Comfortable with local marketing, networking, social media, and community outreach.
Comfortable learning and working extensively in ClubReady and other business technology.
Proficient with email, spreadsheets, and standard office tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with studio staff, instructors, peers, and company leadership.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on studio needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
High level of professionalism, reliability, judgment, integrity, and ownership.
Genuine enthusiasm for fitness, wellness, hospitality, and building community.
Pilates or group-fitness experience is beneficial; familiarity with the Speir method is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience preferred.
Compensation
$25–$29 per hour, based on experience, plus commission based on studio sales and performance. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, in-person in Santa Monica, CA.
