Job description
Providence is seeking a compassionate, patient-centered General Pediatrician to join the team in Anchorage, Alaska. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This physician will play a vital role in promoting healthy growth and development, preventive care, and management of acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
nResponsibilities:
nnnProvide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care for patients from birth through adolescence
n
nnPerform well-child examinations and developmental screenings
n
nnDiagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic medical conditions
n
nnAdminister and counsel patients and families regarding immunizations and preventive care
n
nnCollaborate with specialists, care coordinators, behavioral health providers, and community resources to ensure high-quality patient care
n
nnEducate patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, nutrition, and safety
n
nnMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR), Epic
n
nnParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings
n
nnSupport organizational goals related to patient experience, quality, and access
n
n nQualifications:
nRequired:
nnnMD or DO from an accredited medical school
n
nnCompletion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program
n
nnBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
n
nnEligible for medical licensure in Alaska
n
nnCurrent DEA certification and BLS/PALS certification (or ability to obtain)
n
nnStrong communication and interpersonal skills
n
n nPreferred:
nnnExperience in outpatient general pediatrics
n
nnExperience working in a team-based care environment
n
nnInterest in quality improvement, population health, and preventive care
n
nnExperience caring for diverse and underserved populations
n
