Job description
General Production WorkerThe General Production Worker grinds, deburrs, buffs, and polishes cast parts in an industrial metals manufacturing environment. This role supports the production of commercial automotive components by handling materials, operating basic production equipment, and maintaining consistent quality and safety standards throughout the manufacturing process.ResponsibilitiesGrind, deburr, buff, and polish cast parts to meet quality and finish specifications.Handle raw and finished materials safely and efficiently throughout the production process.Operate general production and basic machine operator tasks as directed by supervisors.Support industrial labor activities in a foundry environment, including loading, moving, and staging parts.Lift and move parts weighing up to 50 lbs as part of daily production duties.Follow all safety procedures while working with and around industrial equipment.Maintain a clean and organized work area in a shop environment that can be dusty and dirty.Work effectively as part of a production team to meet daily and weekly output goals.Adhere to established work instructions and quality standards for automotive and commercial parts.Communicate any equipment, material, or safety issues promptly to appropriate personnel.Essential SkillsExperience working in manufacturing, warehouse, or construction environments.Ability to grind, deburr, buff, and polish cast parts consistently and accurately.Comfort working in a warmer work environment, especially during summer months in a foundry setting.Ability to lift and carry parts up to 50 lbs as part of regular job duties.Basic understanding of industrial labor and material handling practices.Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and follow safety guidelines.Reliability and willingness to work in an industrial metals manufacturing environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in general production, machine operation, or foundry work is beneficial.Experience with material handling in an industrial or manufacturing setting.Familiarity with production processes for automotive or commercial parts is a plus.Interest in learning new production skills and advancing within a unionized environment.Why Work Here?Employees join a stable, unionized shop with a structured pay system and solid benefits. Employees work with and around industrial equipment, making adherence to safety procedures essential. The facility is medium-sized, with approximately 5075 people, offering a close-knit, production-focused atmosphere and a practical, industrial dress code suitable for a shop setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
