Job description
General Production WorkerThis role supports a high-volume granite countertop production facility by safely loading, unloading, and moving materials throughout the shop. You operate material-handling equipment, assist with machine loading for polishing, finishing, and cutting, and help keep production running smoothly during the overnight shift in a clean, fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload granite countertops as they arrive at the facility, ensuring safe handling at all times.Hook granite slabs up to production machines to support polishing, finishing, and cutting operations.Transport granite countertops and related materials throughout the facility using forklifts and pallet jacks.Perform frequent lifting, bending, and stretching to move heavy materials and position them for processing.Follow all safety procedures and maintain constant awareness of surroundings in a fast-paced production environment.Keep work areas clean and organized to support efficient production and reduce safety risks.Work reliably on a 3rd shift schedule from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., supporting continuous production needs.Collaborate with other production team members to meet daily output goals and maintain workflow.Essential SkillsAbility to safely lift and carry 50–75 pounds on a regular basis.Comfort with frequent physical activity including lifting, bending, and stretching.Experience working in a production or general labor environment.Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.Strong safety awareness and commitment to following safety protocols.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.Reliability and willingness to work 3rd shift hours (10:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.).Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious forklift experience is preferred; in-house training is available for candidates eager to learn.Experience in a clean, organized shop or manufacturing environment is beneficial.Comfort working with large, heavy materials such as stone or similar products.Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.Why Work Here?You join a busy, stable operation with strong demand and no anticipated slowdown, offering consistent work and long-term security. The environment requires adherence to safety guidelines, proper use of equipment, and appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and material-handling setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrisburg, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
