Job description
General Production WorkerThis role supports a medical-focused manufacturing facility that produces packaging systems for labware, test kits, vials, and surgical kits. You will coordinate activities along conveyor lines, organize work orders at load and unload stations, and ensure products move safely and efficiently through the sterilization and packaging process. You will complete required documentation, support safe system operation, and assist supervisors in running the plant.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate all activities on the conveyor by organizing work orders at load and unload stations.Load and unload products onto and off the conveyor and pallets according to work orders and safety procedures.Complete all required paperwork accurately, including run data sheets, work orders, load/unload sheets, and system logs.Assist the Shift Supervisor and Process Supervisor in the safe and efficient operation of the system.Operate the plant in the absence of the Shift Supervisor and/or Process Supervisor as directed.Prepare dosimeters for scheduled work orders under the direction of the Process Supervisor.Operate the dosimeter reader and take accurate readings to support production and quality requirements.Assemble processed dosimeters with the corresponding run data sheet, work orders, and load/unload sheets.Maintain accurate downtime and system configuration logs in accordance with facility procedures.Record input, dosimeter, and unload information in the computer system with a high level of accuracy.Follow and perform emergency procedures as required by the facility’s operating license.Report system problems promptly to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Technician.Replace designated mechanical components of the system and assist Maintenance as required.Perform general production duties such as packaging, picking, inspection, packing, and machine operating as needed.Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned by the Supervisor to support overall plant operations.Essential Skills1 to 3 years of experience as a general production worker within a manufacturing environment.Ability to lift 20-30 pounds consistently throughout the shift.Comfortable reading and writing in English for documentation and record-keeping purposes.Ability to complete packaging duties for various products with attention to detail and quality.Experience performing general labor and general production tasks in a factory setting.Experience with basic inspection, packing, and machine operating tasks.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and operational procedures.Reliability in working 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.Additional Skills & Qualifications1 to 3 years of experience operating a Toyota sit-down forklift.Experience working as a production associate in a medical supplies manufacturing facility.Experience operating industrial machinery in a production environment.Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled facility.Ability to collaborate in a smaller, close-knit team environment.Why Work Here?You will join a stable organization in a resilient industry with a strong track record of job security and no layoffs at this facility. The site operates two conveyor systems where employees load and unload totes onto pallets as part of the packaging and sterilization process. The workforce is small, with around 30 employees, creating a family-oriented and supportive environment. Standard work attire includes safety glasses and steel-toe shoes, and the company provides certain branded clothing such as hoodies and T-shirts for work. Shifts are 12 hours in length: 1st shift runs 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and 3rd shift runs 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., scheduled either Thursday-Saturday with every other Wednesday, or Sunday-Tuesday with every other Wednesday. Employees work 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following week, with opportunities to pick up additional overtime if desired.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lewis Center, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
