Clinical operations are structured to ensure quality surgical care delivery throughout each assigned coverage period.

Natural landmarks such as Mammoth Cave and the Red River Gorge provide opportunities to explore caverns, hike trails, and participate in guided kayak tours. Urban destinations, distillery experiences along the Bourbon Trail, farm visits, and live entertainment venues contribute to a diverse range of options for time away from clinical responsibilities.
About the Clinician's Workday Clinicians will provide 24-hour weekend general surgery call coverage on shifts structured from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM, responding to emergency department consultations, rounding on inpatients, and performing surgical procedures as clinically indicated. Responsibilities include managing general surgery and GI cases, including appendectomies, gallbladder conditions, wound care, colon-related issues, and GI bleeds. Procedures include colonoscopies, EGDs, and laparoscopic surgeries. Board certification in General Surgery is required for this assignment.
