nUnityPoint Health St. Lukes has 2 hospital campus locations. and home-based care for patients in Sioux City and the surrounding Siouxland area. St. Luke’s offers a full range services and programs that includes a state-of-the-art surgical center, Siouxland’s premier birth center, 24/7 cardiovascular care, and Level III emergency department. nnDedicated support from Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in both the clinic and hospital settings.

nn24/7 hospitalist program manages adult and pediatric inpatient care, allowing surgeons to focus on surgical services.

n

nnFully integrated health system utilizing Epic EMR across clinics and hospitals to enhance care coordination.

n

nnExperienced clinical and non-clinical staff with strong relationships throughout the community.

n

nnFull-time position with dedicated administrative time and flexible scheduling to ensure excellent patient access.

n

n nResponsibilities

nnnBalanced mix of trauma, general surgery, and outpatient follow-up care.

n

nnTypical office hours:

n

nnMonday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

n

nnFriday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

n

nnAverage of 15 patients per day, and postoperative follow-up visits.

n

nnOffice procedures vary based on physician preference.

n

nnPractice includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

n nSurgical Scope

nnnAppendectomy

n

nnCholecystectomy

n

nnBreast Surgery

n

nnminimally invasive hernia repair

n

nnRobot assisted surgery

n

nnhernia repair

n

nnGastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) surgery

n

nnColectomy

n

nnComplex abdominal surgery, Dialysis access procedures

n

nnEndocrine surgery

n

nnLymphatic system and spleen surgery

n

n nCall Schedule

nnnShared 1:3 call rotation.

n

nnCoverage includes level 3 trauma, ED, and inpatient consultation

n

nnApproximately 10 days of call per month, with home call (not required to remain onsite).

n

nnEvening and weekend call responsibilities.

n nQualifications

nnnMD or DO

n

nnBoard Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery

n

nnAbility to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa

n

nnHold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice

n

nnEligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)

n

nnJ-1 waiver sponsorship available
