Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

micro1 is engaging Generalist — U.S. Tax Workflow Evaluations to participate in a short-term customer project focused on evaluating U.S. tax and financial workflows. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

Carry out structured evaluation tasks by reviewing, annotating, and assessing U.S. tax filing workflows and related financial processes.

Follow detailed project instructions and apply defined rubrics to objectively evaluate workflow accuracy, completeness, and user experience.

Review and compare system-generated outputs to real-world tax documents and scenarios.

Connect personal financial accounts via secure Plaid login, as well as personal Gmail and Google Drive to facilitate workflow reviews and document sharing.

Share relevant tax-related documents for project purposes, with all downstream use occurring after PII has been sanitized.

Communicate findings clearly through both written and verbal feedback as required.

Collaborate asynchronously with project coordinators and provide timely updates on deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently residing in a mainland U.S. state and able to start immediately.

Demonstrated financial literacy and hands-on experience filing 2025 U.S. taxes, either independently or in consultation with a CPA/tax professional.

Comfortable connecting personal Gmail, Google Drive, and financial accounts for secure, project-specific use.

Proficient in reviewing and annotating documents, with attention to detail and consistency.

Experience applying structured evaluation criteria, rubrics, or participating in model or workflow assessments (e.g., data annotation, RLHF, quality review).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and precision.

Familiarity with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Drive), and ability to follow digital workflows.
