Generator Maintenance Technician3206 LANVALE AVENUE - RICHMOND, VA 23230Salary Range $24.00 - $35.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Category Skilled Labor - TradesDescriptionWoodfin-Your Home Team is seeking a skilled Generator Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair and install both mechanical and electrical components of air-cooled and liquid-cooled generator sets and/or related equipment. The Generator Maintenance Technician will be responsible for completing daily tasks as a mobile service technician in a positive, face-paced, supportive atmosphere.Woodfin – Your Home Team: A six-time Richmond Times Dispatch Top Workplace. Join us to work for an organization built around the core values of Humility, Integrity, and Respect!What You'll Do:Inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance and service to standby generator systems up 150KW.Test, troubleshoot, and repair automatic transfer switches and controls.Perform complete start-ups on new equipment with load testing.Perform warranty work and utilize the manufacturer's technical support team as needed.Provide accurate documentation for all services performed.Maintain accurate parts inventory in the service truck and the warehouse.Work a rotating on-call service schedule.Perform other duties as needed.QualificationsWhat You'll Bring:High school diploma or equivalent.Trade school experience is preferred, but not required.Certifications in power generation or the electrical field are preferred, but not required.Possess common tools used for automotive and electrical type work.Strong understanding of combustible engine operations and any associated preventative maintenance tasks.Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and circuitry within a complete standby generator system.Ability to perform accurate failure analysis and troubleshooting using diagnostic equipment.Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.Strong customer service skills with attention to detail in both written and digital formats.Self-motivated professional with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.Fluent English written and verbal skills are requiredDriving Requirements Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.Must have positive points on state driving record.Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.Physical Requirements Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.Woodfin – Your Home Team offers a wide range of employee benefits, including:A welcoming, family-oriented work environment that supports work/life balance.401K plan with Roth and Traditional options, including a 25% company match on up to 6% of your income.Medical insurance with three plan choices, including Health Savings Account options.Dental insurance with two plan choices.Vision insurance coverage.Flexible spending account.Tuition reimbursement.Access to apprenticeship training programs.Scholarship opportunities for you and your family.Paths for cross-training and career advancement.Paid vacation and PTO that accrues from day one.Employee Assistance Program for support when needed.Not everyone may fulfill all the requirements listed here.
