Job description

The Division of Geriatrics in the Southern Region of MaineHealth is currently seeking a Board-Certified Geriatrician to provide inpatient consultative care to hospitalized older adults.

Join a small, collaborative inpatient team of 3 experienced physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to provide Age-Friendly 4Ms care to older adults hospitalized at Maine's largest Level 1 trauma center. While the focus of this position is inpatient, the Division of Geriatrics at Maine Medical Center includes 16 physicians and 18 APPs who provide care to older adults across the spectrum, including inpatient, facility-based, and outpatient primary care. This team of dedicated providers places high value on quality-improvement, systems-improvement, and optimal transitions of care.

In this role, you will provide inpatient Geriatric consults 5 days per week with a focus on complex care coordination and optimal medical management of hospitalized older adults. You will work with medical students, residents, and fellows and have opportunities for teaching at the bedside and in formal didactic sessions. As a consultant, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other specialties and disciplines to promote Age-Friendly Care across the healthcare system. This includes participating in the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP), which has been present at Maine Medical Center for over 20 years and has carried the Site of Excellence designation for over 10 years. This position does not participate in overnight call.

Total compensation packages may include, based on eligibility, recruitment payments, relocation assistance, productivity incentives and quality incentives.

The annual base salary for this position is $250,000.
