Job description
VDOT’sCentralOfficeMaintenanceDivisionrequiresanadvancedGISAnalysttosupporttheirHighwayMaintenanceManagementSection.ThecandidatewilltakedirectionsfromtheHMMSProgramManagerandmustbeabletoperformadvancedGISanalysis,enterpriseassetdatamanagement,GISapplicationdevelopment,andtechnicalcoordination.Thecandidatewillberesponsibleforanalyzing,validating,andmaintainingGISdataassociatedwithvariousmaintenanceassets,developingandmaintainingGISapplicationsusingESRItechnologiesaswellasservingasatechnicalliaisonbetweenITD,assetmanagementsystemadministratorsandsystemusersofvaryingtechnicalcapabilities.
Qualifications
BS/BAinGIS,Geography,Cartography,ComputerScience,orotherrelatedfieldwith/GISexperience.
Aminimumof5yearsofexperiencedesigning,building,anddeliveringwebapplications
Excellentproblem-solving,verbal,andwrittencommunication,design,development,anddebuggingskills
Musthaveexperienceinthedevelopmentofcomplexanalysisandmappingprojects.
Musthavetheabilitytocommunicatetechnicalinformationtonon-technicalcomputerusers,bothorallyandinwriting.
CandidatesshalldemonstratehighcompetenceinESRIGISsoftwaresuite(ArcGISPro3.xandhigher)including,butnotlimitedto,athoroughknowledgeofArcSDEandArcGISEnterprise(server,portal,webadaptors,datastores).
MustworkindependentlytodevelopGIStoolsandapplications,performcomplexanalyses,anddevelopmulti-layeredmapsbyusinganappropriatecombinationoftoolsintheGISapplicationsuiteandotherprogrammingenvironments.
Self-starterwithatechnicalbackgroundinsoftwareandtheabilitytoworkwithminimalsupervision
CandidateshouldhaveProficiencyinPython.
PreferredQualifications
Experienceanddemonstratedproficiencyindataextraction,analysis,andscriptingtools,preferablyOracleSQLandPostgreSQL.
PriorexperiencewithLRSandworkingknowledgeandexperiencewithESRIRoads&Highwaysorothersimilarsystemsisaplus
Priorexperienceworkingwithenterpriseassetmanagementsystemsanddatasets
ExperienceinReportingToolssuchasPowerBIisstronglydesired.
