Cuts flat glass either by hand or through the operation of a machine to specified size and shape by performing the following duties:Positions pattern on glass or measures dimensions and marks cutting lines.Scribes around pattern or along straightedge.Breaks away excess glass by hand or with notched tool or glass pinchers.Smooths and sands rough edges.Tables large, heavy sheets of glass.Grinds, polishes, seams, and bevels glass, as directed.Transports product and helps to unload raw product.Ensures that equipment used is operable and maintained in working order.Cleans equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.Able to work overtime as business needs require.Other duties may be assigned.This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Minimum requirements to perform this job successfully include the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.Mathematical Skills – Basic math skills required.Reasoning - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and glass. Frequently exposed to extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
