Grain Operations WorkerThe Andersons, Inc., is a North American agriculture company that conducts business in the agribusiness and renewables sectors. For more information, please visit Grain Operations Worker role supports daily grain operations through hands-on involvement in receiving, inspection, storage, and loading of corn and wheat across a large agricultural facility. This position includes unloading trucks, operating rail and locomotive equipment, running PLC systems for rail shed operations, and supporting extended unloading and loading activities during harvest seasons. Employees work across multiple areas of the site and are responsible for ongoing facility housekeeping and upkeep, including cleaning bins, pits, and equipment to maintain safe and efficient operations. A strong safety mindset is essential, as this role requires attention to detail, following procedures, and working proactively to support safe grain movement. This position is well suited for motivated individuals with a farm, construction, or general labor background who are willing to learn, work as part of a team, and flex their schedule during peak harvest periods.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform inspection and receiving activities such as probing trucks, weighing trucks, and gathering product samplesMonitor grain handling and receiving equipment and processes; identify potential issues and take appropriate action such as resolving minor issues, performing minor maintenance, or escalating issue for resolution as necessaryAssist with loading grains on rail cars, trucks, vessels (where applicable)Operate various types of mobile equipmentPerform general housekeeping activities such as bin clean outWhat is expected of you and others at this levelHas developed skills through formal training or considerable work experienceWorks within established proceduresCompletes work with a moderate degree of supervisionCompetencies Expected of You and Others at This LevelCustomer Focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesValues Differences - Recognizes the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.Optimizes Work Processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.Instills Trust - Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty.
