Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.Essential Job FunctionsMaintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrity including Computer Assisted Ordering and balance on hand (BOH) accuracyCheck condition, accuracy of quantity, pricing, and temperature of product receivedProcess damaged/returned goods and complete/process paperworkAssist with markdowns and 5S process(sort, straighten, shine, standardize and sustain) of markdown locationsEnsure inventory management for all delivered productManage Direct Store Delivery (DSD) ad plan, inventory and ad space on sales floorScan DSD out of stocks and communicate with vendorsMaintain excellent 5S standards in receiving and backroom areaEnsure all vendors follow company policies and procedures including vendor dress codeAssist with scheduling routine price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signsAssist with planning, organizing and supervising the inventory processReport product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department managerStay current with present, future, seasonal and special adsAdhere to all food safety regulations and guidelinesAssist with perishable donation programEnsure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintainedEnsure shipping and receiving tools are working properly to provide a smooth transition of the products/merchandise into the store and inventory logsPractice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair e.g. power mule and hand jackEnsure maximum security of receiving area and backroomDevelop and train Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Receiver back upCommunicate company, department, and job specific information to associates and vendorsCollaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goalsTrain and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal processDisplay a positive attitudePromote trust and respect among associatesReinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store managementHazmat management, ensure that all wastes (including hazardous) are managed properlyManage store maintenance suppliesNotify management of customer or employee accidentsReport all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraudMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationMinimum Position QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to handle stressful situationsEffective communication skillsKnowledge of basic mathDesired Previous Job ExperienceGrocery department experience (Minimum 2 years)Computer Assisted Ordering experience (Minimum 2 years)Receiving experience (Minimum 1 year)BenefitsHealth & Well-being Benefits:Health care benefitsPaid time off such as vacation, sick leave, and parental leaveMental and emotional support resources through our Employee Assistance ProgramFinancial Benefits:Participation in a 401(k) plan and/or participation in a Taft-Hartley pension fund, subject to certain eligibility requirementsGroup term life insurance eligible, depending on varying criteria by location and subject to certain eligibility requirementsEligible for annual bonusAssociate discountsGrowth and Development Benefits:Tuition assistance, college scholarships and educational leave of absence, depending on varying criteria by location and subject to certain eligibility requirementsRobust internal training and development resources to grow your careerCompany OverviewKroger Family of Companies employs nearly half a million associates who serve over 11 million customers daily through a seamless shopping experience under a variety of banner names.
