This includes engineering teams, distributors, and more than 100 qualified construction crews with extensive experience across all ISP types and markets; over 300 experienced bury drop crews; and more than 700 professional technicians.

nWe are seeking a Ground Hand to join our team in Mount Vernon, WA. In this role you will assist aerial lineman and underground construction by preparing materials, tools, and equipment needed for overhead line work as well as underground construction equipment operators to ensure safety.

n nThe Role

nnnAssist aerial lineman by preparing materials, tools, and equipment needed for overhead line work

n

nnAct as a spotter for aerial linemen and equipment operators to ensure safety

n

nnOperate and maintain ground-level equipment, such as bucket trucks, winches, and hoists

n

nnHandle, transport, and organize tools, cables, poles, and hardware

n

nnMaintain a clean and safe job site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures

n

nnProvide support by pulling and feeding cables, attaching hardware, and securing work areas

n

nnAssist with traffic control and safety flagging as needed

n

nnPerform routine maintenance checks on vehicles, tools, and equipment

n

nnCommunicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth operations

n

nnFollow all company safety guidelines to prevent workplace accidents and injuries

n

nnStrives to provide the best customer experience every day

n

nnOther duties as assigned

n

n nRequirements

nnn1+ year(s) of aerial fiber optic installation and/or telecommunication construction preferred

n

nn1+ year(s) of experience using a pneumatic piercing tool or missile boring for underground construction preferred

n

nnBasic understanding of electrical or fiber optic work is a plus

n

nnAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints

n

nnStrong knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements

n

nnFamiliar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines

n

nnAbility to safely climb poles with climbing equipment

n

nnAbility to travel daily, open to a variety of schedules, participate in on-call evenings and weekends as needed

n

nnAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

n

nnAbility to lift and carry 70lbs consistently

n

nnAbility to complete tasks with small components and wires

n

nnAbility to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time

n

nnAbility to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and tools

n

nnValid driver’s license

n

nnPassing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)

n
