Job description
Job TitleResponsible for ensuring the safe and efficient removal of vegetation along rights of way for infrastructure projects such as roads, powerlines, or pipelines. Responsible for operating machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, or brush cutters to clear trees, brush, and other obstacles in designated areas.Job DescriptionPerform a variety of tasks involving physical manual labor.Maintain a neat and clean job site to avoid potential hazards.Perform materials handling and storage.Load and unload trucks, hauls, and hoist materials.Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.Operate a variety of hand and power tools.Clean and prepare job sites.Dig trenches.Clean up rubble and debris and remove waste material.Prunes and remove vegetation using chainsaws, hand saws, mowers and other tools and equipment.Removes and chips brush.Applies herbicide according to label instructions, state and industry standards.Work from bucket or ground.Assists crew members and other departments.Demonstrates continued learning and progression of responsibilities, skills, and abilities to progress in the department.Job RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required.Must have a valid driver's license.CDL is preferred.Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card.Must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background checks.Must have good hand eye coordination.Must be able to repair tools and equipment as needed.Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.Able and willing to work for extended periods in various locations.Able and willing to work in all types of weather environments including inclement weather.Able and willing to work overtime when required.Must be able to enter and exit vehicles numerous times per day.Must be able to wear PPE.Understanding of the utility industry and operations.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent organization and time management skills.High level of professionalism and integrity.Excellent leadership and management skills.Ability to make decisions.Ability to process and analyze data.Safety minded, team-oriented, shows great attention to detail, willing to take on responsibilities and challenges, works well under stress, and punctual.Working ConditionsWork is performed outside in all types of weather environments.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to bend, climb, stoop, stand, and lift for long periods of time.Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.Must be able to walk, climb, and work from various heights.Must be able to work in uneven and slippery conditions.Required to have close visual acuity to perform job duties.Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
