Job description
Grounds Maintenance Department Operations & MaintenanceTo perform a variety of grounds care tasks.Other duties may be assignedTree trimming.Mowing and trimming.Landscaping.Irrigation installation and repair.Snow and ice removal.Chemical applications.Working athletic events.Turf renovations.Ball diamond installation and upkeep.Athletic field upkeep.Miscellaneous repairs.General upkeep of 65 locations.Other duties as assignedExperience with landscaping and turf maintenanceExperience with tree trimming and grounds careExperience operating commercial mowing and trimming equipmentKnowledge of grounds maintenance tools and materialsKansas pesticide applicator's license preferredHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious experience in grounds maintenance or school district operations preferredKnowledge of practices that support public school operationsAbility to build effective working relationships with staff, students, and community membersAbility to use appropriate technology related to the positionAbility to work collaboratively with team membersCommitment to continuous improvement and professional developmentAbility to maintain professionalism and follow district policiesAbility to read and interpret work orders, documents, and instructionsAbility to communicate clearly in verbal and written formAbility to complete reports and documentation when requiredKnowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in grounds maintenanceBilingual communication skills preferredAbility to perform physical outdoor work for extended periodsAbility to lift, carry, push, and operate equipment used in grounds maintenanceAbility to travel between district sites using district vehiclesAbility to work flexible schedules, varying work locations, and changing weather conditions.Work occurs primarily outdoors in varying weather conditionsWork may involve exposure to noise, equipment, and interruptions during school operations
