All landscape maintenance duties such as weed-whacking, lawn mowing, snow removal etc. Maintains equipment including all safety features. Event set up and take down. Assist Facilities moving furniture and other items. Utilizes proper PPE for given duties. Assist other parts of the facilities team as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.Competencies Ethical Conduct Stress Management/Composure Teamwork Orientation Thoroughness Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment Strenuous physical activity. Grounds workers are required to move around campus properties and work with equipment. Outside work is required during all types of weather conditions. Grounds workers must always use proper protective equipment. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time essential worker position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. On-call work is required. Travel No travel is expected for this position.Required Qualifications - High school diploma or GED preferred Valid driver's license and clean driving recordPreferred QualificationsPhysical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
