GROUNDSKEEPERDeSales University, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, is a Catholic, private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts university. Founded by the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales in 1964, the 550-acre suburban campus is located about 50 miles north of Philadelphia and 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,000 includes undergraduate day, evening, and graduate students. DeSales has approximately 130 full-time faculty members and offers 50 bachelor's degrees, 14 graduate programs, and a number of certificates in a wide range of disciplines. In 2024, the University transitioned to a new academic structure featuring a four-college/school model.POSITION SUMMARY: The groundskeeper has the overall responsibility of maintaining the campus grounds and all equipment used by the department in the maintenance of grounds and snow removal.QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma/GEDAbility to make independent decisions, use good judgment and demonstrate integrityProven ability to interact professionally and communicate effectively with individuals of all ages and diverse backgrounds.Must be able to work overtime upon supervisor's request or workloadMust possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license, transportation, and a clean driving recordMaintains an on-call status for emergency problemsMust be able to lift 50lbs, work in lifts and bucket trucks, operate forklifts and tractors and other equipment as neededMust be able to work in all weather conditionsMust pass criminal and drug background checksSensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability and diversityDedicated to the mission of a small, Catholic, liberal arts
