Job description
Groundskeeper IPosition Summary To assist in the attainment of District goals through the provision of effective and efficient grounds keeping services.Essential Functions / Key ResponsibilitiesPerform all assigned fields and grounds keeping duties.Operate riding lawn mowers, weed eaters, edger's, trimmers, pruning tools, chain saw, backpack blowers and other powered/non-powered related landscape tools.Operate tractor and various implements including aerator, mulcher-shredder.Safely load/unload tractors on trailers and/or operate on city streets.Perform basic custodian duties as assigned during inclement weather or when necessary, as determined by the supervisor.Compile, maintain and file all reports, records, and other required documents applicable to position.Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or regional accrediting agency).Valid Texas drivers' licenses with good driving record.3+ years of related experience.Candidate may work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employeeKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesManual skills necessary to perform physical work and operate various types of grounds machinery and equipmentAbility to follow instructions and work effectively with minimum supervisionKnowledge of safety procedures related to equipment useKeep informed of and comply with state, district, and federal policies, including daily attendance, punctuality and confidentiality.Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.Ability to demonstrate the following core values: integrity, high expectations, commitment, respect, dedication to teamwork and passion for a student-centered environment.Working Conditions Work Environment:Computer, computer software programs and peripherals and other equipment applicable to position.Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise.
