GroundskeeperExemption Status: NonexemptReports to: Maintenance Director or Grounds ForemanDept./Location: MaintenancePrimary PurposeMaintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping, including athletic fields.QualificationsEducation/Certification:Clear and valid Texas driver's licenseSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructionsAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to operate power-driven, hand operated, or self-propelled equipmentRegular attendance is essentialMust be a team player/respect othersExperience:NoneMajor Responsibilities and DutiesGrounds and LandscapingMow and detail all grounds, including athletic fields.Follow scheduled maintenance plan to care for lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers by watering, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, caring for beds, and controlling weeds.Plant shrubs and vegetation.Assist with the preparation of athletic fields for games, including chalking fields.Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish, and refuse from facilities.Assist with the inspection, repair, and installation of sprinkler systems.SafetyOperate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
