GroundskeeperThe Groundskeeper completes grounds maintenance and associated tasks in a timely and accurate manner.Job QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GEDExperience: At least two (2) years of responsible grounds-keeping experienceCertification/LicenseValid Georgia Driver's licensePhysical ActivityPhysically fitAble to lift more than 100 pounds over short distancesAble to walk, stand, crouch, reach, and climb to use ladders or perform various types of manual laborMust have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to perform assigned tasksAble to withstand various temperaturesGood distance visionKnowledgeCommunicates effectively and promotes good public relations with all encountered during work dayWorks with peers/supervisors in a considerate and cooperative manner and assists others when neededManages time efficiently and functions with minimum supervisionKnowledge of tools, materials, and standard practices for grounds-keeping, trimming trees and care of shrubberyKnowledge of qualities and performance of various mowing machines, tractors, and other grounds-keeping equipmentKnowledge of proper kind and use of fertilizers and sprays applicable to grounds-keepingDuties and Responsibilities1. Attends work every day on time and performs all duties as assigned effectively and efficiently2. Promotes good relations and displays a positive image with school staff, students, administrators, and community members3. Takes direction from supervisor4. Plants, prunes, and mulches shrubbery; mows, trims, and edges lawn; and removes dead or undesirable plan material5. Operates tractors, mowers, and other grounds-keeping equipment6. Fertilizes and sprays shrubbery7. Makes necessary reports8. Hauls and spreads fill dirt; clears new ground; prepares ground for proper drainage and grassing9. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisorSecurity Clearance: The Glynn County School System requires a criminal background check and fingerprinting on all new employees, including all substitutes and other designated employees.Work Days: 261Compensation Range: $32,967 - $48,843* FY26_CB/RW09Salary is commensurate with experience.
