Our purpose is to build partnerships, improve communities and change lives.The Groundskeeper supports the overall appearance and functionality of the property by ensuring that grounds and common areas are kept clean, safe, and well-maintained. This role works closely with the maintenance team to complete daily upkeep tasks and provides assistance with light maintenance and rehab projects to maintain a high-quality living environment.Location: Lasalle Park Homes & William C. Ellison ResidenceWork Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ETReports to: Maintenance Supervisor or Property ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesGrounds & Exterior Care:Maintain property grounds by removing litter, debris, weeds, and leavesSweep, blow, and clean sidewalks, landings, parking lots, and trash enclosuresAssist with seasonal tasks such as hedge trimming, snow/ice removal, and basic landscapingEnsure the property reflects strong curb appeal at all timesCommon Area Upkeep:Clean and maintain shared spaces including lobbies, hallways, laundry rooms, and community areasMonitor lighting in common areas and replace bulbs as neededSupport trash removal and maintain cleanliness of trash rooms and enclosuresMaintenance Support:Assist with painting, touch-ups, and small repairsProvide support for unit turns and rehab projects, including prep and cleaning workSafely operate small tools and equipment (drills, blowers, weed eaters, etc.)Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to the Maintenance SupervisorSafety & Team Support:Follow all company safety protocols and comply with OSHA regulations during daily work activitiesReport hazardous conditions, safety violations, or maintenance concerns to management immediatelyUtilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safe work practices when operating tools or equipmentWork independently to complete tasks while supporting the property maintenance teamRemain flexible to adjust tasks as priorities shiftPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business needs and contribute to team success.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious custodial, janitorial, or groundskeeping experience preferredLight maintenance experience (painting, basic repairs) strongly valuedSkills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and reliability in completing tasksComfortable working independently and managing time effectivelyDependable, responsive, and able to adapt to changing priorities and urgent needsPhysical capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularlyWhy Join Our Team?As a Groundskeeper, you'll play an important role in keeping our community welcoming, clean, and well-maintained.
