GroundspersonNew York Tech's Long Island campus seeks a Groundsperson to work Monday – Friday, 10:00AM – 6:30 PM.The Groundsperson title is in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with Local 282. The Groundsperson performs routine manual labor to maintain campus grounds, including landscape cleaning and seasonal outdoor maintenance. The role requires regular physical activity and the use of hand and power tools.Essential Job FunctionsPerform lawn care, including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing debrisRemove trash, leaves, and debris from grounds, walkways, and parking areasPerform snow and ice removal, including shoveling, salting, and operating snow equipmentOperate equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and small machineryLoad, unload, and transport materials such as soil, mulch, tools, and equipmentIdentify and report unsafe conditions or maintenance issuesPerform general outdoor maintenance as assignedPhysical DemandsFrequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reachingAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularlyUse of hands for gripping, handling, and operating tools and equipmentRepetitive motions including bending and twistingAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)Work EnvironmentOutdoor work in all seasons and weather conditionsExposure to noise, dust, pollen, and equipment fumesUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredQualificationsPrevious landscaping, outdoor maintenance, and snow plowing experience preferred.HS Diploma or equivalent.Must be computer literate.Must have a valid NYS driver's license.Ability to work unsupervised on assigned tasks.New York Institute of Technology offers numerous opportunities to enhance personal and professional growth and provides employees with a competitive compensation and benefits program inclusive of generous paid time off, holidays, tuition remission, and retirement plans with employer contributions.New York Institute of Technology is an Equal Opportunity Employer – All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.In compliance with local legislation as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, the annual base salary range for this position is listed.
