Job Description:
PulseForge is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to join its electrical engineering team in Austin, TX. This onsite role involves designing hardware for advanced manufacturing systems using pulsed-light technology, collaborating across various teams to bring new products from concept to customer deployment.
Responsibilities:
Develop schematics and select components for hardware from concept through release.
Gather and define system specifications and requirements.
Plan and develop PCB layouts ensuring signal integrity and thermal performance.
Debug, characterize, and validate new designs at the bench.
Design and execute test plans and experiments to guide design decisions.
Collaborate with software, mechanical, manufacturing, and applications teams for production solutions.
Support sustaining work and product improvements across the installed base.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in designing, building, and testing electronic hardware.
Experience in developing original circuits and making design decisions from first principles.
Skills:
Strong fundamentals in analog, digital, and power electronics.
Proficient with lab equipment like oscilloscopes and power supplies.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with high-voltage power electronics and high-energy power delivery.
Familiarity with optical instrumentation and precision sensing.
Knowledge of embedded control hardware and data acquisition.
Experience with computing modules, firmware, and FPGA-based systems.
Strong analog design experience and mixed-signal circuit design.
