Hardware Engineer - Connectivity Modules

General Motors is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer specializing in Connectivity Modules to enhance automotive connectivity systems. This hybrid role requires the candidate to work in Warren, MI, or Sunnyvale, CA, three days a week. The ideal candidate will contribute to developing advanced technology solutions that ensure safety and improve customer experience.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement detailed validation plans for hardware components and systems supporting Connectivity technologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical designers, PCB layout, product managers, and RF/Wireless engineers.

Utilize lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers for testing and validation.

Analyze and interpret data from validation tests, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.

Validate power delivery and stability under various operating conditions.

Work with silicon vendors to align on SoC bring-up and interface characteristics.

Create test reports and validation metrics, recommending corrective actions based on test results.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

6+ years of hands-on validation experience with embedded and connectivity systems, preferably in automotive or consumer electronics.

Experience validating high-performance computer systems and high-speed digital interfaces.

Skills:

Expertise in using lab instruments like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.

Strong problem-solving skills for complex hardware and system issues.

Familiarity with power management ICs and low-power design principles.
