Job description
Rockwell Automation is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer Level 3 for a 12+ month contract role in Milwaukee, WI. The ideal candidate will collaborate on an agile team to design and develop new industrial automation products, focusing on hardware verification and overall architecture.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate on an agile team to design and develop new industrial automation products.
Program, analyze, and troubleshoot electronic hardware prototypes.
Prepare product design documentation and test reports.
Research new technologies and implement new circuit design tools.
Work with technical peers to implement test automation and design simulation solutions.
Build relationships across teams to enhance understanding of the product development lifecycle.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by refining engineering best practices.
Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience in cross-functional hardware product development.
Experience using design capture tools and ability to read & understand schematics.
In-depth knowledge of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors and digital logic devices.
Hands-on experience with hardware test equipment such as debuggers and oscilloscopes.
Programming experience in Python and/or C++ for automated test applications.
Experience working in a scaled Agile environment.
Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC61508) and EMC standards (e.g., IEC61000).
Strong attention to detail and ownership.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Growth mindset with a willingness to learn and mentor.
