Safety Hazmat TechnicianFull-Time, Monday - Friday 8am - 5:30pmEarn 1 week of vacation after 90 days of employment and enjoy an excellent benefits package that includes our very own employee resorts.R+L Carriers - Women in TruckingCompany CultureR+L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Safety Hazmat Technician in our Fontana, CA Service Center office. Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous materials clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, handling of hazardous materials, and other duties as required.Requirements40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferredBased on OSHA and industry health standards, wear proper personal protective equipment when requiredWork effectively and communicate with team members and other departmentsInform management team of issues that arise on jobs in a timely mannerUpdate job notes dailyPhysically fit; able to lift 75 lbsAble to thrive in a high pressure and fast paced team supported environmentLead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following R+L procedures, properly containerizing waste/re-use products, completing safety documentation, and upholding R+L's high level of safetyExperience operating tools applicable to emergency response activitiesSet up and participate in live training events to ensure competency of personnelAudit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for complianceAbility and willingness to coach co-workers on unsafe behaviors observedWilling to participate in specialized scheduled projects as requiredCompetent in Microsoft Office applications such as, but not limited to; Excel, Word, and OutlookExceptional interpersonal skills, customer service and problem-solving skillsProven ability to work in a confidential capacityAbility to handle multiple tasks, while being detail oriented**We will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with arrest or conviction records, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, the County of Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, and the California Fair Chance Act.Benefits: R+L Carriers offers an excellent compensation and comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matching contributions, Paid Vacation & Holidays, and vacation lodging at our exclusive employee resorts in Daytona Beach, FL, Big Bear Lake, CA, Pigeon Forge, TN, and Ocean Isle Beach, NC.About Us : R+L Carriers is a family owned, privately held transportation company founded in 1965.
