HeadCoach - Varsity Boys/Girls Swim GENERAL INFORMATION Title: Head Coach - Varsity Boys/Girls Swim Department: Heritage High School Salary Grade:Coach Pay Scale
FLSA Status: Exempt
Site/Location: Heritage High School
Reports to: Athletic Director
Date: 09/29/2026
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for recruiting, teaching, and coaching student athletes in the sport of swimming and in specific cases, diving.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Instructs student-athletes in the rules, techniques, and equipment to become better swimmers or divers.
Organizes and directs individual and group practice activities off campus with a specified training facility.
Monitoring student-athletes during practices and competitions.
The coach must also be capable of completing essential paperwork assigned by the Athletic Director and school system.
The coach must also attend assigned rules clinics assigned by the Virginia High School League on a yearly basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Previous coaching experience is preferred.
Experience in swimming meets and techniques is essential.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have completed or completed a mandatory coaches certification under the Virginia High School League.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
None
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Minimal travel may be required to and/or from sporting events within neighboring localities.
