We welcome all that share those values to apply.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Provides oversight and direction to lifeguardsEnsures cleanliness of the pool area by performing maintenance activities and assigning Lifeguards' cleaning activitiesAssists the Pool Manager with pool maintenanceInspects the pool and facility at opening and closingProvides on-the-job training to new LifeguardsCompletes all paperwork related to the positionChecks pool chemical levelsAssigns Lifeguard positionsPerforms Lifeguard duty. Ensures safety of pool patrons; observes pool users, enforces pool rules and regulations, and performs emergency first aid and life-saving techniquesPerforms all duties of LifeguardPerforms other duties as assigned or requiredMinimum Qualifications:An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old Experience: Six (6) months prior experience as a lifeguard preferred Licenses and/or Certifications Required: Must hold the following Starguard Elite certifications: Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/Professional Rescuer, AED and Administering Emergency Oxygen. A current American Starguard Elite Lifeguard Certification is required. Candidates must know CPR/PR with AED, O2A and First Aid Certifications.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of and ability to physically perform various rescue techniques and life-saving proceduresAbility to effectively convey information to pool patronsKnowledge of and skill in using chemical supplies to treat swimming poolsAbility to develop and maintain effective working relationshipsPhysical Demands:Occasional physical work lifting no more than 10 poundsOccasional lifting, carrying, walking and standingOccasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stop, kneel, crouch or crawlFrequent hand/eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipmentVision for reading, recording and interpreting informationSpeech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizensWork Environment:Extended periods of time in the pool and pool area with exposure to temperature extremes, varying weather conditions, chemicals, water and other conditions found in the pool areaEquipment Used:This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employmentMust satisfactorily complete a criminal background check prior to commencing employment.The Town of Castle Rock is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
