Head of Business Development (PR/ ) San Francisco, California
Salary: USD - USD per annum + Stock
Our client is building data center capacity from the ground up, securing power and land before delivering AI-ready facilities to some of the world's largest technology companies. Backed by leading investors and founded by entrepreneurs with a track record of significant exits across technology, infrastructure, power, and real estate, this firm is positioned at the intersection of AI demand and digital infrastructure development.
This is a rare opportunity for a commercially driven leader to take ownership of demand generation and capacity sales within a high-growth platform.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring capacity is committed before facilities are delivered. This role is focused on leveraging an existing network of relationships within hyperscalers, frontier AI companies, and emerging cloud providers to originate, structure, and close major capacity agreements.
Rather than building relationships from scratch, the firm is looking for someone who already has credibility with the individuals making strategic capacity decisions and can convert those relationships into revenue from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Build and execute the commercial strategy for securing capacity offtake agreements.
Leverage existing relationships with hyperscalers, AI labs, and cloud providers to generate immediate pipeline activity.
Originate, negotiate, and close large-scale data center capacity transactions.
Lead commercial discussions around powered shell, colocation, and AI infrastructure solutions.
Partner with site selection, engineering, delivery, and finance teams to ensure developments align with customer demand.
Provide market intelligence on future capacity requirements, power availability, density needs, and deployment timelines.
Represent the firm at executive level with customers, partners, investors, and industry stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Established relationships with decision-makers responsible for data center capacity procurement across hyperscalers, AI organizations, and cloud providers.
Proven track record of closing large-scale infrastructure, colocation, or capacity transactions measured in tens or hundreds of megawatts.
Deep understanding of data center leasing, colocation, capacity planning, and AI infrastructure requirements.
Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and long-term capacity commitments.
Strong grasp of the financial and commercial considerations that underpin large-scale infrastructure projects.
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where speed, execution, and commercial creativity are critical.
