Job description

Green Tea Distribution (GTD)

Los Angeles, CA

Full-Time

About Green Tea Distribution

Green Tea Distribution is an independent music distribution and artist development company built by the team behind Mind of a Genius Records.

We work directly with independent artists to help them distribute, develop, market, and grow their careers.

We are now looking for a Head of Growth — Artist Acquisition to take ownership of customer acquisition for our premium artist membership, White Glove .

This is not a traditional corporate marketing role, and it is not a role for someone who only manages agencies or specializes in one channel.

We are looking for someone who can own the entire growth funnel from beginning to end .

The Role

Your primary objective is simple:

Find the right independent artists for White Glove and build a predictable, scalable system for turning them into long-term GTD members.

We already have a working product, an active customer base, significant data from our existing marketing efforts, and a strong understanding of what has and hasn't worked.

You will inherit those learnings and be responsible for turning them into a cohesive growth engine.

You will own everything from identifying potential audiences to getting qualified artists into our sales funnel.

This may include:

Paid social advertising, particularly Meta and Instagram

Creative strategy and ad testing

Influencer and creator partnerships

Artist and industry partnerships

Referral programs

Outbound acquisition

Email and SMS funnels

Landing pages and conversion optimization

Retargeting

Events and industry activations

Partnerships with managers, producers, studios, labels, music educators and other artist-facing businesses

Developing entirely new acquisition channels we haven't explored yet

We don't care where the customer comes from.

We care that they are the right customer.

What You'll Own

Customer Acquisition

Build and manage a multi-channel acquisition strategy for White Glove.

Identify where serious independent artists are spending their time and figure out the most efficient ways to reach them.

Paid Media

Own our paid acquisition strategy, including:

Audience targeting

Campaign strategy

Creative testing

Budget allocation

Retargeting

Landing-page optimization

CAC analysis

You do not necessarily need to personally execute every campaign forever, but you should understand paid acquisition deeply enough to manage and evaluate it.

Influencers & Partnerships

Build relationships with people and organizations that already have access to the artists we want.

Examples could include:

Producers

Managers

Engineers

Studios

Artist coaches

Music educators

YouTube creators

TikTok/Instagram creators

Music communities

Independent labels

Songwriting camps

Music conferences

Funnel Optimization

Own the journey from:

Audience → Lead → Booked Call → Show → Close → Retained Member

Work closely with our sales team to understand lead quality and continuously improve who enters the funnel.

Analytics

You should know exactly:

What we're spending

Where leads are coming from

Cost per qualified lead

Cost per booked call

Show rate

Close rate

Customer acquisition cost

60-day retention

90-day retention

Performance by acquisition channel

Generating a large number of low-quality leads is not success.

The goal is to acquire artists who actually benefit from GTD and stay with the company.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on growth operator .

You may currently be a Head of Growth, Growth Director, Growth Marketing Manager, Director of Marketing, or an unusually entrepreneurial marketer ready to own an entire function.

The ideal candidate:

Has built or significantly scaled a customer acquisition funnel

Understands paid social deeply

Is comfortable analyzing CAC, conversion rates and retention

Can think creatively beyond paid ads

Knows how to test ideas quickly

Has experience with partnerships, creators, affiliates or influencers

Understands landing pages and conversion optimization

Can manage contractors, agencies and outside partners when needed

Is highly analytical but equally comfortable with creative strategy

Takes ownership rather than waiting for direction

Is comfortable working directly with founders

Can operate in a fast-moving startup environment

Understands that growth means revenue and retained customers — not impressions, followers or vanity metrics

Music-industry experience is a major plus, but great growth experience is more important than having worked at a traditional record label.

Experience in subscription businesses, SaaS, marketplaces, creator platforms, education, high-ticket services or other direct-to-consumer businesses is especially relevant.

What This Role Is NOT

This is not primarily:

Social media management

Content posting

Brand marketing

PR

Community management

Running an Instagram account

Managing a large marketing department

You will be measured on your ability to acquire high-quality customers economically and repeatedly.

How Success Will Be Measured

Your ultimate KPI will be:

New White Glove customers who remain active customers.

Supporting metrics will include:

Qualified lead volume

Booked calls

Show rate

Close rate

CAC

60-day retention

90-day retention

LTV/CAC

Growth of White Glove MRR

The Opportunity

We have already spent considerable time testing different approaches to artist acquisition.

We know much more today about our ideal customer, the economics of the business, which types of artists retain, which leads don't convert, and which marketing channels have potential.

We are looking for someone who can take those learnings and say:

“Give me ownership of the funnel. I'll build the machine.”

If that sounds like the kind of challenge you want, we'd love to hear from you.
