Location: Oakland, CA 94610
Employment Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $120,000 – $135,000 (Starting Range)
Education Level: Bachelor Degree
Essential Job Duties
Educational Leadership Implements a high-quality, rigorous, safe, data-driven high school program consistent with AIMS K-12 mission and vision.
Sets ambitious school goals for student achievement and performance and holds staff accountable for results in alignment with Alameda County Education and Local authorizers.
Develops, oversees, continually evaluates, and improves the school’s instructional model and curriculum.
Models high quality instruction and provides frequent coaching for instructional staff.
Uses data to inform practice and drive decision‑making and instruction at the school.
Legal Compliance Assures filing of all legal and regulatory documents and monitors compliance with relevant laws and regulations for all school site academic and operational requirements.
Mission, Policy and Planning Works with Board to oversee the growth of the school to ensure Charter petition and MOU is met.
Helps the Board determine the school’s vision, overall direction, and short‑and‑long‑term goals.
Oversees the charter renewal and site visit process and development of the school's Annual Report.
Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to the school’s accountability plan.
Keeps the Board fully informed on the condition of the school and all important influencing factors.
Management and Administration Creates and sustains an environment of mutual respect, high standards, safety, and support for learning.
Provides general oversight of all school activities, manages day‑to‑day operation, and ensures school safety by tracking and monitoring best practices of safety.
Attends extended school back‑to‑school night, summer enrichment, and orientations for family and staff engagement.
Ensures smooth functioning, efficient organization through coordination with Board, committees, staff, and volunteers.
Ensures that the MTSS and Chief of Academics and Chief of Operations have necessary resources and expertise.
Recommends staffing and financing to the Chief of Academics and Chief of Operations; negotiates professional contracts in accordance with Board action.
Evaluates and supervises members of the Leadership Team and staff.
Governance Helps the Board establish role and accountabilities for Board, committees, and members and evaluates performance regularly.
With Board Chair, develops agendas for meetings so the Board fulfills responsibilities effectively.
Finance Works with Director of Operations and Finance Committee to develop and implement an annual operating budget based on tuition revenue and public entitlement grants.
Works with CFO and COO to ensure financing supports short‑and‑long‑term goals.
Qualifications
Preferred Administrative Credential but not required.
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
Preferred Master’s degree in leadership or education (not required).
3 years of successful teaching experience.
3 years of administrative experience in the educational environment.
Experience working with 9th‑12th grade students.
Valid California Driver’s License.
Fingerprinting and Tuberculosis test required.
Knowledge and Abilities
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to support teachers.
Ability to manage complex tasks efficiently.
Strong knowledge of academic standards, teaching practices, safety guidelines, leadership, and change management.
