Head of Legal & Compliance
Location: New York, NY, US • Salary: $200K – $250K • Equity: 0.10% – 0.30% • Full‑time • Experience: 3+ years • Visa: US citizen/visa only
About the role
Chariot is a charitable payments company that’s revolutionizing the philanthropic financial system. We believe more money needs to move to nonprofits faster, so we are building tools that activate more philanthropic dollars and transform nonprofit operations to be more efficient. We’re looking for top talent to join our mission‑driven team in changing the financial landscape of philanthropy.
About You
4+ years in law or compliance, ideally with fintech exposure
Detail oriented with excellent written/verbal communication skills
Proactive with strong people skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast‑moving, cross‑functional team environment
Team player with an ownership mindset and an eagerness to take on more work whenever possible
Deep understanding of financial services, specifically in B2B financial services, banking, and/or digital asset management
Ability to respond to regulatory inquiries and audits, including drafting, reviewing, implementing, and managing policies and procedures
J.D. strongly preferred
