Job description
Advanced Welding LeaderThis role combines advanced welding expertise (MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core) with leadership responsibilities, supporting production goals and mentoring welders in safety, technique, and productivity.Responsibilities & DutiesLead and coordinate daily welding activities for assigned team or shiftPerform advanced welding tasks on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials using multiple processesInterpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings to guide team executionInspect welds for quality and conformance to specifications and codes (AWS, ASME, etc.)Train and mentor welders on techniques, safety practices, and equipment useMonitor productivity and ensure adherence to production schedulesCollaborate with supervisors, fitters, and quality inspectors to resolve issuesMaintain welding equipment and ensure proper setup and calibrationSupport continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practicesDocument production and quality metrics as requiredAll other duties assigned.Other ResponsibilitiesTo ensure Kelvion's Standard of Excellence, which includes quality, is incorporated into every product we produce.Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Global Code of Business Principles, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Vision and Values, Operational FrameworkRequirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core welding processesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbolsWelding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX) preferredPrior leadership or team lead experience strongly preferredEducation And Experience (Required Levels)High school diploma or GED5+ years of welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environmentPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
