Health Unit CoordinatorWage Range: $26.75 - $41.06 per hourPosted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.Job Summary: As the first point of contact for many families and visitors, the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) plays an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment within the FMC Postpartum team. The HUC coordinates clerical and reception functions, facilitates communication among the care team, and helps ensure smooth daily operations in support of our smallest patients and their families.Primary Duties:Provides customer service to patients, families, and the cross-functional team.Facilitates communications - scheduling, coverage of telephones and nurse call systems.Maintains patient records, CPOE and unit census records on a daily basis.Coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges to the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.Performs other duties as assigned.License, Certification, Education or Experience:REQUIRED for the position:High School graduation or equivalent.Must possess excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients.DESIRED for the position:One (1) year of related experience in a similar setting.Completion of a medical terminology course and/or a Health Unit Coordinator course.Benefit Information: Choices that care for you and your familyAt EvergreenHealth, we appreciate our employees' commitment and contribution to our success.
