Heat Press OperatorAcoufelt specializes in delivering high-quality soft architectural acoustics solutions tailored to the unique needs of our clients. We work with contractors, ceiling sub-contractors, designers, and architects to provide products that enhance and transform interior workspaces. Our portfolio includes a range of premium soft architectural materials and products designed for commercial projects.The Heat Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of hydraulic heat press equipment and industrial ovens used in the manufacturing process. This role includes machine setup, mold changes, material loading, oven operation, monitoring production cycles, maintaining quality standards, and performing routine equipment inspections.The operator works closely with production personnel to ensure products are processed accurately, equipment remains in proper working condition, and production schedules are met.Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM- 4:30PMCompensation: Starting at $19Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPress & Oven OperationOperate hydraulic press equipment and industrial ovens according to established work instructions and safety procedures.Verify machine and oven settings before each production run.Set and monitor required production parameters, including pressure, temperature, and cycle times.Load, unload, and transfer materials between ovens, molds, and presses as required.Monitor production cycles to ensure consistent product quality.Remove completed molds and materials safely after processing.Maintain proper material flow through the heating and pressing process.Use production paperwork to follow product quantities.Mold Setup and ChangeoversAssist with mold installation and removal using proper lifting and handling procedures.Ensure molds are correctly aligned and seated within designated spacers and fixtures.Inspect molds for wear, damage, and cleanliness before use.Work with team members during mold changes, requiring a two-person lift when necessary.Safety ComplianceFollow all company safety policies and procedures.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Maintain awareness of emergency stop locations and machine safety systems.Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and free of obstructions.Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or incidents immediately.Safely handle heated materials and equipment during oven and press operations.Quality ControlVerify materials are properly positioned and prepared before processing.Monitor product quality throughout heating and pressing operations.Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues.Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.Equipment MaintenancePerform daily cleaning of molds, presses, ovens, and surrounding work areas.Conduct routine inspections of hydraulic systems, pressure gauges, safety devices, and heating equipment.Report maintenance concerns to manager or maintenance personnel.Assist with preventative maintenance activities as assigned.TroubleshootingIdentify and assist in resolving common operational issues, including:Hydraulic system malfunctionsMold alignment problemsPressure inconsistenciesOven temperature variationsCycle timing issuesEscalate unresolved equipment problems to maintenance personnel.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Manufacturing, production, or machine operation experience preferred.Experience operating hydraulic presses, industrial ovens, or similar production equipment is a plus.Ability to follow written work instructions, SOPs, and safety procedures.Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to lift, push, pull, and move molds, materials, and finished products safely.Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery.Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.Ability to work as part of a team during mold changes and material handling operations.Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 lbsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesUnderstanding of workplace safety practices.Ability to safely operate production equipment and follow process instructions.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to recognize quality issues and equipment abnormalities.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.Performance ExpectationsMaintain safe operation of all heat press and oven equipment.Meet daily production goals, quality standards, and schedule requirements.Complete required inspections, cleaning, and housekeeping tasks.Follow all work instructions, SOPs, and company policies.Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Benefits:Competitive compensation and bonusesComprehensive health insurance including a choice of two medical plans, dental, vision, employer paid health savings account, and voluntary accident, hospital, life, critical illness.Paid Time Off starting at 15 days with carry overCollaborative wellness programPaid volunteer time off401k employer matchEmployee Assistance ProgramRewards and Recognitions
