Job description
Heavy-duty Truck Mechanic
Reuther Material is an industry-leading company specializing in building materials. We are experiencing significant growth and are looking for full-time, skillful Heavy-duty Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic team in our Succasunna, NJ location. In this position, you will collaborate with other repair team members to ensure a vehicle is safely and efficiently operating to the driver's needs.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions and perform the repair.
Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts.
Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts.
Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks.
Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Maintaining a clean, hazard-free work environment in compliance with Reuther and OSHA standards.
Requirements:
Attention to detail and familiarity with diesel trucks.
Excellent physical condition and coordination (including the ability to reach above your head, bend, stand, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, kneel, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds as relevant to the job).
Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends, during periods of high demand.
Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather (inclement and otherwise).
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical machinery and parts, fumes and airborne particles.
Regularly loud noise level.
High school diploma.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have valid I-9 credentials (i.e. valid passport, drivers license, state-issued id, social security card, etc..).
