Honc Destruction is seeking (2) experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanics to join our team. This role involves the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and demolition equipment. The ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine problems in heavy trucks and equipment
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles comply with safety regulations
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
Communicate with supervisors and other team members regarding repair status
Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED; technical certification or vocational training preferred
Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience (heavy truck and/or equipment)
Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)
Ability to lift heavy components and work in physically demanding conditions
Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Ability to work overtime and some Saturdays as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Fabrication skills
Experience working with brands such as Kobelco, Peterbilt, Mack, Volvo, etc.
