If you're the person who likes figuring out how things work and wants a career where every day is different, we'd love to meet you.What You'll DoAs a Heavy Equipment Assembler on our Main Assembly team, you'll assemble custom-built heavy equipment using engineering drawings, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and mechanical assemblies. No two builds are exactly alike, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving.In this role you'll:Assemble complex heavy equipment using engineering drawings, build books, and bills of materialsInstall hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and mechanical componentsRoute and connect hydraulic hoses, fittings, and electrical wiringPrepare trucks for final assembly and install customer-specific optionsPerform measurements, adjustments, testing, and troubleshootingComplete final assembly, including lighting, hoods, decals, and finishing componentsWork closely with Engineering, Parts, and Production teamsInspect your work to ensure every machine meets Schwing's quality standardsHelp build one-of-a-kind equipment used on major construction projects throughout North AmericaWhat We're Looking ForWe're seeking someone who enjoys working with their hands and solving mechanical challenges.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED3+ years of mechanical assembly, equipment maintenance, diesel, automotive, agricultural, or industrial mechanic experienceStrong mechanical aptitudeExperience with hydraulic, electrical, gas, or diesel systemsAbility to read blueprints and hydraulic/electrical schematicsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsComfortable using computers to access work instructions and document work completedBonus Points For:Heavy equipment experienceDiesel mechanic backgroundAutomotive or heavy truck repair experienceAssociate degree or certification in Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, or a related fieldWhy Mechanics Choose SchwingBuild large, custom equipment—not repetitive production workEvery day is different with new customer configurationsWork with hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical systemsStable company with over 50 years of manufacturing excellenceModern facility with quality tools and equipmentOpportunities to advance into senior mechanic, lead, engineering support, or technical specialist rolesWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly pay$2,000 Hiring BonusComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid vacation and holidaysCompany-paid life and disability insuranceTuition reimbursement and career development opportunitiesEmployee wellness programsA culture built on teamwork, safety, and craftsmanshipReady to Build Something Bigger?If you're looking for more than just another mechanic job—and want to build equipment that helps shape skylines and infrastructure across North America—we want to hear from you.Apply today and put your mechanical skills to work at Schwing America—where quality is built from the ground up.Monday through Friday, 6am-2:30pm
