We are hiring Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanics for a Construction company, paying $30-$40/hr!
nJob Description
nThis role focuses on diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy diesel equipment used in construction and similar environments. You will apply your expertise in diesel systems, hydraulics, electrical components, and mechanical assemblies to keep equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably both in the shop and in the field.
nResponsibilities
nnnDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues on heavy equipment used in construction and related industries.
n
nnPerform routine and preventive maintenance on heavy diesel equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
n
nnRepair and overhaul diesel engines, braking systems, hydraulic systems, and related components according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
n
nnUse hand tools and power tools to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble heavy equipment components.
n
nnTroubleshoot complex equipment problems by interpreting symptoms, conducting tests, and identifying root causes.
n
nnDocument maintenance and repair work accurately, including parts used, labor performed, and recommendations for future service.
n
nnOperate a fully equipped service vehicle to perform field repairs and maintenance at customer or job sites as needed.
n
nnCollaborate with other technicians and team members to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion of repairs.
n
nnFollow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in the shop and in the field, including proper use of tools and equipment.
n
nnMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored and used properly.
n
n nEssential Skills
nnnAt least 5 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment in construction or a similar field.
n
nnStrong knowledge of diesel engines, including diagnosis, maintenance, and repair.
n
nnHands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and component replacement.
n
nnAbility to diagnose and repair electrical systems on heavy equipment.
n
nnProficiency in preventive maintenance practices for heavy diesel equipment.
n
nnSkilled in the safe use of hand tools and power tools for mechanical repair.
n
nnExperience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment braking systems.
n
nnProven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues independently.
n
nnCapability to work as a maintenance technician on production or construction equipment.
n
nnStrong attention to detail, safety awareness, and adherence to repair procedures.

n nAdditional Skills & Qualifications
nnnBackground in construction equipment maintenance or similar heavy industrial environments.
n
nnExperience performing field service work using a service vehicle.
n
nnAbility to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
n
nnStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
n
nnGood communication skills for coordinating with team members and customers.
n
nnOrganizational skills to manage multiple work orders and prioritize tasks effectively.

nWork Environment
